Personal Reflections... 2007
From my first encounter with a Kluge press in the mid-80's to the day in '89 when I left my full-time paycheck to join the world of the self-employed, I've never looked back. In many ways, many aspects of those early and hungry days laid the foundation and defined the character of what Letterpress Graphics, Inc. would become, and is today.
As a first generation company, I'm thankful for the tenacious and persistent spirit that has driven our growth; attributes I've shared with 3 generations of entrepreneurs before me. I pay homage to those whose vision, integrity and character moved them --- through prejudice, the Great War and Great Depression --- to create thriving businesses that kept food on their tables by their own determination. My most important lessons didn't require the college degree. The lessons "Do Good!" from Mom everyday when I left for school, and Dad's more serious "Mind over Matter" whenever I hit difficulty, are the bedrock of my life. Through great difficulties and through good times, they left an indelible image of fortitude I can never forget.
